As we advised in our request for donations, all contributions in
excess of what was used for this machine were forwarded to Patrick
Volkerding, Slackware's creator and maintainer, and he seemed to
be quite appreciative - we had a great time at the 2011
Southeast LinuxFest.
First, we'd like to thank Adam Kennedy and
Omnicity for providing hosting to
cardinal for all this time
and tolerating our incessant "please kick cardinal" messages. Even
though we're moving all of the services from cardinal to harrier,
Adam is still going to provide a VPS to replace cardinal so that we
can use it for low-priority stuff (e.g. slave dns).
