1. Prerequisites

   AsciiDoc is written in Python so you need a Python interpreter
   (version 2.3 or later) to execute asciidoc(1). Python is installed by
   default in most Linux distributions. You can download Python from the
   official Python website [1]http://www.python.org.

2. Obtaining AsciiDoc

   The latest AsciiDoc version and online documentation can be found at
   [2]http://www.methods.co.nz/asciidoc/ and at the SourceForge
   [3]http://sourceforge.net/projects/asciidoc/.

3. Tools

   Current AsciiDoc version tested with:
     * Python 2.4.1.
     * DocBook XSL Stylesheets 1.69.1 (with AsciiDoc drivers and
       patches).
     * xsltproc (libxml 20617, libxslt 10112 and libexslt 810).
     * FOP 0.20.5.
     * Browsers: Firefox 1.0.4, Opera 8.0, IE6 SP2 and Konqueror 3.4.0.
